With its tropical climate, laidback lifestyle and wealth of activities, Hamilton Island is popular with tourists, residents and investors alike. Almost 1,500 people call Hamilton Island home, with up to 3,500 guests on the Island every day.
With modern facilities typical of the mainland, Hamilton Island has a marina and village, retail shopping precinct, domestic airport, church, day care centre, kindergarten, an array of quality restaurants, a 1,300-seat convention centre and a medical health clinic.
There is a local public school for children aged 5-12 years with approximately 40 students currently in attendance. Island residents organise various community fundraising events in support of the school throughout the year. In 2014, the school was the winner of Best School in the Region.
Hamilton Island has a distinct and fully functioning residential community that makes the Island more than just another holiday destination - it's the social and cultural hub of the Whitsundays.
